Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

1. Who we are

Migrate Moments (“the app”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is provided by Brendan Scott Murray (ABN 83 452 010 292), trading as Yarrum Apps, based in Australia (“Yarrum Apps”). Migrate Moments is available as two applications that share one account and subscription:

  • Migrate Moments for Mac (bundle ID com.yarrumapps.migratemoments)
  • Migrate Moments for iOS (bundle ID com.yarrumapps.mm.ios)

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). It applies to both apps and to our website at migratemoments.com.

2. Summary

  • We collect the minimum needed to run your account and subscription: your email address and subscription status.
  • Your photos and videos are never uploaded to, stored on, or accessible by Yarrum Apps’ servers. All scanning, organising, and deletion happens locally on your device.
  • If you use the Google Photos export feature, the app uploads the photos you select directly from your device to your own Google account. This is a transfer to a third party (Google) that you authorise — see Section 5.
  • We use a small number of trusted third-party processors (Apple, Stripe, Supabase, Google) described in Section 7.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

3. Information we collect

a) Account information

  • Email address — when you create an account, purchase a subscription, or contact support.
  • Authentication data — a securely hashed password (for email/password accounts) and/or a Sign in with Apple identifier and Apple private-relay email address (if you sign in with Apple). We never see your Apple password.
  • Account identifier — a system-generated user ID.

b) Subscription and billing information

  • Your plan (Monthly or Annual), subscription status (e.g. active, trialing, past due, cancelled), the source of your subscription (Apple In-App Purchase or Stripe web checkout), subscription period dates, and processor references (e.g. Stripe customer/subscription identifiers).
  • When you pay via our website, Stripe collects your payment card details and billing address directly. When you pay via In-App Purchase, Apple collects your payment details. We never receive or store your full card number.

c) Photos library access (on your device only)

With your permission, the app requests read and write access to your device Photos library so it can scan, display, organise, and — at your instruction — delete photos and videos, and (on Mac) export them. This access is used entirely on your device. No photos, videos, thumbnails, or photo metadata are transmitted to Yarrum Apps.

d) Support correspondence

If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message.

e) Diagnostics on beta (TestFlight) builds

If you install a beta version of the iOS app through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple collects crash logs and basic diagnostic information and makes it available to us to improve the app. This applies to TestFlight beta builds only and is governed by Apple’s privacy terms. Public App Store releases do not include this reporting.

f) Website technical data

Our website is served through our hosting provider, which may process standard server request data (such as IP address) for security and delivery. We do not run analytics, advertising, or behavioural-tracking tools on our website.

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • provide, unlock, and synchronise your Pro subscription across the Mac and iOS apps;
  • process payments and manage renewals, trials, refunds, and cancellations;
  • provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
  • keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse; and
  • comply with our legal, tax, and record-keeping obligations.

We rely on the necessity of performing our contract with you (providing the app and subscription), your consent (e.g. Photos access and Google Photos export), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing the service.

5. Google Photos export (important disclosure)

The Mac app includes an optional feature to export photos to Google Photos. If you choose to use it:

  • You authorise access to your Google account using Google OAuth 2.0. The authorisation happens on your device via a local socket callback; the resulting access token is stored on your device.
  • The app then uploads the photos and videos you select from your device directly to your own Google Photos account using the Google Photos Library API.
  • These photos are transmitted from your device to Google. They do not pass through, and are not stored on, Yarrum Apps’ servers. This transfer is to Google, a third party, and is governed by Google’s own Privacy Policy and your Google account settings.
  • We only request the Google permissions needed to create and upload to your library. We do not use Google user data for any purpose other than providing the export feature, and we do not retain your Google data on our servers.

You can revoke the app’s access to your Google account at any time in your Google Account security settings.

6. Photo deletion (irreversible)

Both apps can permanently delete photos and videos from your device and iCloud library at your instruction. Deletion is irreversible. You are responsible for verifying that any export or backup has completed successfully before deleting originals. See the Terms of Use for the corresponding allocation of responsibility.

7. Third parties we share information with

We use the following processors, and share only what each needs to perform its function:

We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

8. International data transfers

Yarrum Apps is based in Australia. Our account database is hosted with Supabase in the Seoul, South Korea (ap-northeast-2) region, and several of our processors — notably Stripe, Apple, and Google — are based in, or store data in, the United States and other countries outside Australia. Where personal information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles, and we rely on the safeguards and contractual protections offered by these providers. By using the app, you acknowledge that your information may be processed outside Australia.

9. Data retention

  • We retain your account and subscription information for as long as your account is active.
  • After account deletion, we delete your personal information from our active systems, except where we are required to retain certain records (for example, transaction and tax records) to meet legal obligations under Australian law. Payment records held by Stripe and Apple are retained according to their policies and applicable law.
  • We do not retain your photos, videos, or Google account data on our servers at any time.

10. Deleting your account and data

You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information by:

We will process verified deletion requests within a reasonable time and no later than 30 days. Deleting your account cancels your access to Pro features. Note that cancelling a subscription and deleting your account are separate actions — see the Terms of Use for how to cancel billing on each platform.

11. Children’s privacy

Migrate Moments is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act and the APPs, you may:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or out-of-date information;
  • request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements); and
  • complain about how we have handled your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@migratemoments.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au. Users outside Australia may have additional rights under their local laws.

13. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed credentials, and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and to promptly address any security issues.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
